Commitment to supporting people with disabilities has earned Adam Anolik, associate vice president of 鶹Ƶ, the Outstanding Community Partner Award from Starbridge. He will be honored Saturday evening at the Celebration of Champions at Locust Hill Country Club.

Anolik is honored for advancing the organization’s mission of supporting people who have disabilities in their pursuit of education, employment and successful, healthy lives. He served on the board of directors of The Advocacy Center, which merged with LDA Life and Learning Services to create Starbridge in 2014. He continues to serve on the Starbridge board of directors and is active in the Developmental Disabilities Giving Circle at the Rochester Area Community Foundation.

Anolik, who also serves as chief financial officer of UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial and Highland hospitals, and his wife Jennifer Anolik, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy/Immunologyand Rheumatology and director of UR Medicine’s Lupus Clinic, have two adult daughters, Ellie and Sarah. The couple understands the difficulties that people with disabilities and their families face and the value of building strong support systems..

Ellie is a graduate of LifePrep at Nazareth and participates in the Community Arts Connection through the Arc of Monroe. She is living independently with two roommates. Sarah lives and works  in New York City after graduating from Boston University.

“Although her transitions are not without challenges, Ellie is someone who always has a smile on her face and endears herself to anyone she comes in contact with,” Anolik said. “As her parents, we are extremely proud and humbled by how she has become a truly independent young woman.”

Anolik is one of six people that Starbridge will honor for their positive impact on the lives of people who have disabilities. The Celebration of Champions begins at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $60 and available at (585) 224-7248, or events@starbridgeinc.org.
