When you are feeling under the weather, probably the last thing you want to do is leave the comfort of your home. However, proper diagnosis and treatment of your condition are critical steps on your road to healing. That’s why we offer On-Demand Video Visits to patients living in New York state or Florida.

These online appointments can replace in-person office visits. You can rely on our telehealth services to help you manage a variety of common medical conditions, minor illnesses, and injuries, including:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Bronchitis
  • Common cold
  • COVID-19
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Pink Eye /Conjunctivitis
  • Poison ivy
  • Rash
  • Tick bites
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Vomiting

With the press of a few buttons, you can connect with local health care experts you trust at one of the region’s top-ranked hospitals. Our UR Medicine team includes access to providers who are on staff to meet your needs, delivering world-class care from a health care network powered by an academic research center.

Signing up for online medical services is a seamless process, putting the benefits of telemedicine services at your fingertips. When you need fast access to care, you can count on us to diagnose, prescribe, schedule follow-up visits, and answer questions you have about your health so you can get back to your day as soon as possible.

On-Demand Video Visits are not the right option if you’re experiencing serious symptoms, such as a broken bone, chest pain, or difficulty breathing. These symptoms should be addressed by an emergency room physician.

Getting Started

1

To connect with On-Demand Video Visits, you will need a desktop or laptop computer, a tablet, or a smartphone, along with a stable internet connection.

When you’re ready, you will log in to the Video Visits site and :

  • Click on “Start a Video Visit now."
  • Scroll down to “Get Started.”
  • Select your state and click on the “Go” button.
When you arrive at the registration page, you will register if you are using On-Demand Video Visits for the first time or sign in if you already have an account.
Please note that this telemedicine service does not link to your MyChart account where you access your electronic medical records. If you have a MyChart profile, you will still need to choose a login for your On-Demand Video Visits.

Signing In

If you are a new user, you will select the “Register” option and create a password to use for future visits.

Once you have entered your new login information, you will need to agree to the terms of service. You will then click “Create Account” before continuing to the next page, where you will be asked a few questions to help your provider prepare for the appointment.

These questions will include details about whether your On-Demand Video Visit is to address your personal health care or that of someone else. Other information you will be asked to share will include the full name, address, and date of birth of the person receiving care.

When entering your date of birth, remember that On-Demand Video Visits are only available for patients ages 18 and older.

Details About Your Care

Before your appointment begins with your provider, you will be asked to enter a description of the reason for your appointment and share an overview of symptoms that are bothering you.

After you provide this information, you will be directed to the payment options page where you will select your preferred payment method.

If you select the insurance option, you will be asked for the name of your insurance provider, your member ID number, and whether you or someone else is the policy holder. If you pay by credit card you will enter your credit card number, expiration date, CVC, and zip code, just as you would when shopping online.
You will be able to review your information on the “Almost Done” page. If everything looks correct, you will then select the checkbox to confirm we have your permission to provide you with treatment and that you understand your financial responsibility for the appointment.
That’s it! You will then choose “Enter Waiting Room” to get to the digital waiting room on the next page. Wait times for On-Demand Video Visits average 15 minutes or less. Be sure to keep the window open while you wait.
During your visit, your provider will discuss symptoms with you as well as a treatment plan. He or she will also prescribe medications that you may need.
